A New Chapter at The Cowgirl

Fort Worth is about to unveil one of its most anticipated cultural openings, and Palomino County readers will be among the first to know what to expect.

Opening November 7, 2026, the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame will debut a stunning 16,000 square-foot expansion, introducing an entirely new way to experience one of the city's most beloved destinations. Perfectly positioned in the heart of Fort Worth's cultural district across from the iconic Dickies Arena, the transformation blends Western heritage with immersive new experiences designed for every generation.

From the moment guests arrive, they'll be welcomed by a striking new entrance framed with sculpted bas-reliefs of running horses, a beautiful tribute to the enduring spirit of the American West and the remarkable women who helped shape it.

Inside, the museum's newest galleries invite visitors to step deeper into cowgirl culture than ever before. A thoughtfully curated fashion gallery traces the evolution of Western style through iconic apparel and accessories, while a new photography gallery captures unforgettable moments and legendary figures whose courage and determination continue to inspire today.

One feature is already generating excitement across North Texas: a one of a kind, fully operational carousel handcrafted by the renowned artisans of Barrango in San Francisco. Equal parts art installation and attraction, it's destined to become one of Fort Worth's most photographed new landmarks.

The expansion also introduces an elegant event venue accommodating up to 250 guests, creating an inviting space for community celebrations, educational programming, and signature museum events for years to come.

The festivities begin with an exclusive members only preview from 10 a.m. to noon on opening day before welcoming the public at 12 p.m. on November 7.

Whether you're planning a historical afternoon, a girls getaway, or simply looking for your next Fort Worth adventure, this exciting new chapter at The Cowgirl offers another reason to fall in love with Fort Worth. It's a celebration of history, resilience, style, and the pioneering spirit that continues to define the West.
