Mark your calendars for this celebration taking place in the bourbon capital of the world

We are always on the lookout for hidden gems and "first to know" reveals of things we know our readers (and we!) will love. Here in Palomino County these are at the top our list: down-to-earth, yet luxe, ranch-style vacations; American craftsman-style products that will last a lifetime; and of course, wine and spirits that offer a unique story—if not flavor.
Enter, Bardstown, Kentucky—where bourbon is less a pastime than a way of life—and there is always a reason to raise a glass. But in 2026, one date is already circled in bold: November 19.
On that evening, the Bardstown Collection returns, transforming the Bourbon Capital of the World into something closer to a pilgrimage site for collectors, connoisseurs, and curious travelers alike.
More than a release, the event has become a cultural moment—one that celebrates not just what’s in the bottle, but the people and place behind it.

First introduced in 2022, the Bardstown Collection was built on a simple but uncommon idea: collaboration over competition. In an industry often defined by heritage and house style, some of Bardstown’s most respected distilleries come together to create something entirely new. Each contributes carefully selected barrels along with their own approach to blending and aging, resulting in a limited bourbon series that cannot be replicated—and cannot be purchased anywhere else.
That sense of rarity is only heightened in 2026. Following a shift to a biennial release schedule after 2024, this year’s Collection reflects a more deliberate pace. Master distillers have been given the luxury of time—time to refine, to experiment, and to shape a product that feels less like a launch and more like an occasion. The mid-November timing, just ahead of the holiday season, only adds to its allure.
But what truly sets the Bardstown Collection apart is its purpose. Since its inception, the initiative has raised more than $360,000 in support of scholarships, local programs, and community efforts across Bardstown and Nelson County. Every pour carries with it a sense of reinvestment—a way of honoring the very community that has made Bardstown synonymous with bourbon.
The 2026 Collection brings together an impressive roster of participating distilleries, including Bardstown Bourbon Company, Heaven Hill, Lux Row Distillers, and Preservation Distillery + Farm, among others. This year also marks the addition of Barton 1792 Distillery, further reinforcing the collaborative spirit at the heart of the project.
And true to its roots, the Collection remains firmly tied to place. Bottles are available exclusively on-site in Bardstown, turning each purchase into an experience—and the release party into a destination in its own right.
In a town steeped in history, where more than 300 buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Bardstown Collection is quickly becoming part of that legacy. A modern tradition, perhaps—but one that feels right at home.
We hope to see you there!
