How the great outdoors and its people fuel a platform for community

Turtlebox didn’t start as a company. It began as a band of brothers. Founded in Houston by four friends with a shared passion for life on the water, the crew needed a high-quality waterproof speaker that could withstand harsh weather aboard their shared sailboat.
After breaking nearly every option available, they set out to build their own. In 2012, after substantial garage-tinkering and determination, they developed their first Turtlebox speaker. Six years later, the product was available to the public.
Today, Turtlebox speakers echo across the country, in some extreme, and even unexpected places, from the summit of Rendezvous Peak at Jackson Hole to college football practice fields and a world-famous PGA Tour pro’s cart. Nearly 500 ambassadors, partners, events, and conservation groups make up the Turtlebox community, each embodying the brand’s motto: Live Free. We couldn’t agree more with that motto!
Here are some fun and unexpected places you’ll find Turtlebox Speakers

Make Some Noise
When the Oregon Ducks prepared for one of the loudest atmospheres in all of college football, Penn State’s infamous White Out, they prepped with more than practice. They added noise. With Turtlebox, the Ducks simulated the deafening sound of 115,000 fans, pushing volume to stadium levels and training to thrive in pure chaos. Photo by: Hayden Dobbins.

Get Hype, Surf’s Up!
Professional wave chaser Alyssa Spencer relies on her Turtlebox speaker to set the tone before hitting the water. “Getting good music blasting in the house before heading out to surf is so fun,” she says, using sound to build energy, focus, and momentum before every session.

Reaching New Heights
If you’ve been to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, you’ve probably heard a Turtlebox speaker. “Partnering with Turtlebox allows us to elevate this experience even more, ensuring every musical moment, whether on the slopes, at our restaurants, or during an event like the Rendezvous Music Festival, resonates with the vibrancy and excitement that makes Jackson Hole so special,” says Ned Wonson, Vice President of Marketing with the resort. On And Off The Course
"The Ranger is my go-to speaker, and I use it all the time,” says Scottie Scheffler, two-time Masters Champion. “Whether I’m on the road, at home, or out at Royal Oaks with my buddies, I’ve always got the Ranger playing tunes.” He also likes to take it to the park with his son and jam to Texas country. Fly-Tying Companion
"Some of my favorite ways to use my speaker are playing country and bluegrass while I tie flies at night, or starting the day early with worship music and shooting my bow,” says professional hunter and angler Macy Watkins.
